Black Gallery - Storie(s) of Emotion(s)
10/10/2026 08:00 - 29/03/2027 16:00
The Black Gallery forms part of the permanent collections of the Musée des Beaux-Arts. Equipped with a lighting system that only switches on when a visitor passes by, only sensitive and fragile works are exhibited there for a limited period.
Storie(s) of Emotion(s)
Joy, fear, anger, compassion, melancholy or ecstasy: emotions run through the history of art just as much as they shape the human experience. Through a selection of works from the museum’s print collections, this exhibition explores how artists have depicted passions and states of mind over the centuries. From Renaissance engravings to contemporary experiments, via 19th-century satire and Expressionism, this exhibition traces the evolution of our relationship with emotions. An invitation to look, feel and rediscover art as a universal language of the intimate.
An admission ticket to the permanent collections grants access to the exhibition.
