Catalogues of the Musée des Beaux-Arts’ collections

The Musée des Beaux-Arts’ collections are the subject of three publications.

The first volume, comprising 408 pages, was published in 2016 to mark the reopening of La Boverie. It contains individual entries for each selected work, as well as texts drawing the reader’s attention to a particular artistic movement or an exceptional event in the history of art. The text was written by curators from the museums of Liège and renowned external contributors. Edited by Régine Rémon, First Honorary Curator at the Museum of Fine Arts.

The publication of this catalogue was made possible in particular thanks to the bequest of the artist Fanny Germeaux, who died in 2012 at the age of 101.

The second volume contains 100 entries on works of art, around twenty texts and studies, and over 160 illustrations. Richly illustrated, it comprises 304 pages and was published in 2019 to coincide with the exhibition dedicated to the richness of the permanent collections, ‘Liège. Masterpieces’. Edited by Régine Rémon, First Honorary Curator at the Museum of Fine Arts, and Alain Delaunois, Research Officer at the Museums of Liège.

Published by Snoeck and La Boverie/City of Liège.

The third volume, entitled *Liège Museum of Fine Arts: Ten Years of Acquisitions (2016–2026)*, provides a strategic review of the past decade. Over this period, more than 2,000 works have been added to the collections, a success largely due to the generosity of donors and targeted purchases. This 208-page volume brings together a selection of 70 entries on works that have entered the collections over the last decade. Going far beyond a simple chronology of acquisitions, it offers in-depth descriptions and rigorous scientific analyses, enriched by illustrations providing the reader with high-quality reproductions.
