Documentation Centre

Located in the historic heart of Liège, the Fonds patrimoniaux is a museum organisation run by the City of Liège dedicated to the conservation, study and display of heritage on paper.

Four departments are housed within the Îlot Saint-Georges, in a space of over 1,500 m² specially adapted for the conservation and display of heritage on paper: the Ulysse Capitaine Library, the Museums’ Documentation and Research Centre, the Centre for Children’s and Graphic Literature, and, most recently, the Comic Strip Archives.

Boasting over 500,000 documents, this vast literary, artistic and scientific heritage is accessible free of charge. As a resource for study and research, it is aimed at all audiences and contributes to cultural life through the activities that bring it to life: exhibitions, talks, events and training courses.
